Registration

1. Before you begin (helpful hints).
   1. We recommend that you check some of the links located on the left sidebar menu. For example, before you enter into any carpool arrangements, you should probably review “Tips for a successful carpool,” the “Carpool discussion checklist,” and “Frequently Asked Questions.”
   2. When you are ready to begin the iRideShare registration process, click on "Register / Login" on the sidebar menu. This will take you back to the Login Page.
2. On the Login Page.
   1. Click "Register Now" to set up your iRideShare account.
3. Terms & Conditions Page.
   1. After reading the Terms & Conditions, mark the check box to accept the waiver of liability.
4. Create Login Details Page.
   1. Select your email address location – work or other.
   2. Enter and confirm your work or other email address and a password.
   3. Indicate if you wish to have your password emailed to you if you forget it.
   4. Click "Create my Account".
5. Create My Profile Page.
   1. By default the system assumes that you are looking for commuting partners, unless you uncheck the “Availability” box.
   2. Create your profile by entering the requested information (name, phone, smoker/non-smoker, gender, the commuting options you are interested in, and whether you are looking to be a carpool driver and/or passenger). Your profile will be used to match you with compatible rideshare partners.
   3. Provide any comments relating to your commute preferences, such as “I pick up coffee on the way to work”. Any comments you provide will be visible to other iRideShare users that match your profile.
   4. By default the system will email you when a new user matches with your profile, unless you uncheck the “Automatic Matching Notifications” box.
   5. Click "Create My Profile".
6. Create My Commuting Schedule Page.
   1. Create your commuting schedule by indicating your start and end times (i.e., the time of day you need to arrive at your destination and the time of day you can leave for the return trip back to your origin). You can have different start and end times for each day of the week, and you can also indicate how flexible these times are by modifying the default time flexibility (plus or minus 30 minutes).
   2. Click "Save My Commuting Schedule".
7. Create My Addresses Page.
   1. Add your home or other origin address and the nearest major intersection. You can type in your address or click on your home or origin location by clicking on a map. Your home/origin location is not revealed but the nearest intersection information is displayed to potential rideshare partners.
   2. By default the system assumes that your origin address is the same as your home address, unless you uncheck the “Origin Address” box.
   3. Provide the name of your employer, college or other commute destination.
   4. Add your work, college or other destination address and the nearest major intersection. You can type in the address or click on your destination location by clicking on a map.
   5. Click “Save My Addresses". You may be prompted to choose between alternative street addresses. After choosing the correct address, click the “Save My Addresses” again.
8. Confirm Your Email.
   1. An automatic email will be sent to you to confirm your account. Check your email inbox and click on the link within the email from SLO Regional Rideshare to access your profile.
   2. Once your account is confirmed you are able to search for compatible rideshare partners.
   3. Log back onto the system (if necessary) to begin looking for rideshare partners.
9. My iRideShare Page
   1. After you have logged back in, you will be at the "My iRideShare” Page. This will be the page which will always appear upon logging into iRideShare.
   2. Click on "Find Ride Matches" and your match list will be immediately generated.
10. Potential Commuters
    1. Choose the person(s) who best matches with your commute preferences.
    2. Your identity is protected until YOU make contact with a potential match.
    3. To filter potential partners based upon your own criteria, move your cursor to the match list and hover over the icons to get more information about a potential partner, such as any comments they provided when registering.
11. Email Matching User
    1. Use the system to generate an email to anyone on your match list. The email will be from your email address, so that if they reply it will be directly to your email address and not transmitted through the iRideShare system. The iRideShare communications system is in the process of being modified so that all user email addresses will be hidden.
    2. Don’t be surprised if you register today and don’t immediately find a match. The system is new and it will take time to build the user database. However, if you chose to leave the “Automatic Matching Notifications” box checked, the system will email you when a new user matches with your profile.
